Ashley joined the legal industry in 2011 and received her Paralegal Associates Degree in 2012 from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT). Ashley graduated with Honours. Since becoming a Paralegal, Ashley has specialized in multiple areas of law with a primary focus in civil litigation, corporate law, family law and criminal law.
Ashley provides legal assistance to the firm’s lawyers by drafting pleadings and Lists of Documents, assisting in document review, drafting court applications, preparing settlement documentation, forming, maintaining and dissolving different types of businesses, creating organizational documents, including articles of incorporation or dissolution, and stock certificates, drafting contracts, creating and distributing annual reports/returns, assisting with documents required by regulatory bodies, responding to requests for information, and performing legal research. Ashley is knowledgeable with the stages of the criminal prosecution process and has a passion for criminal law. Ashley is also familiar with the Alberta Rules of Court, which assists her in preparing the necessary legal documents at various stages of each case. Further, she reviews client disclosure and assists in building a defence for each case, as well as providing a supportive role in all aspects of file management and organization.
Ashley has substantive legal responsibilities that let lawyers devote more time to counseling their clients and making appearances in court.
Ashley is a Level 2 Accredited User of CORES (Corporate Registry) and is a former Director and Secretary of the Calgary SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) Society.
Outside of the office, Ashley enjoys spending time with her family, remaining active in her local community and riding horses, competitively. Prior to her legal career, Ashley worked in the customer service industry. Born and raised in Calgary, Ashley is a strong advocate for our City and she is proud of where she comes from.
